Length of Foundation Membership

  • Foundation Membership has an initial minimum commitment term of 12 months (52 weeks), from your membership start date (October 2017).
  • Once the initial minimum commitment term has been reached, membership will continue to auto-renew every fortnight, unless it is terminated by you or us in accordance with the termination conditions outlined in our membership agreement.

Joining fee and membership fees

  • Foundation Membership includes a joining fee of $49.30 - which is payable on sign up (please note this is not applicable to existing Hume Leisure Centre members),
  • Ongoing membership fees of $18.20 per week will be payable from your membership start date (October 2017).

Paying for your membership

  • Your joining fee and membership fees will be payable through direct debit provider EziDebit, who will deduct fees fortnightly from your nominated debit or credit card.

Your health and safety

  • Foundation Members agree to complete our new member’s pre-exercise survey, and provide us with any relevant health and fitness information that might affect your ability to use our facilities.
  • When using our facilities, you must ensure you are in good physical condition and are aware of no medical or other reason that would prevent you from exercising. If you are unsure, you will seek medical advice.

Suspending your membership

  • You may suspend or defer your Foundation Membership for a minimum period of four weeks and a maximum of two months during a 12-month period.

Transferring your membership

  • Your Foundation Membership cannot be transferred to another person.

Cooling off period

  • Your membership is subject to a cooling off period of seven (7) days from your membership start date. You may choose to cancel your membership during this period by notifying us in writing. If you are joining before our centre opens, your cooling off period starts once the centre opens. Joining fees are not refundable.

Cancelling your membership due to medical reasons

  • For extenuating circumstances you may apply to cancel your membership during your minimum commitment term, with confirmation from a doctor with a medical certificate.

Cancelling your membership due to other reasons

  • You may choose to cancel your membership during the initial minimum commitment by paying 50% of the remaining balance of the membership.
  • If you wish to cancel once the minimum term has been reached, you will provide 14 days’ notice.

Minimum age

  • You must be 18 years or over to become a Foundation Member.
