Gym Equipment Replacement FAQ's

We’re excited to announce that we’re installing new Life Fitness equipment in the gymnasium at Splash Aqua Park & Leisure Centre.

The gym area will be closed between from 5.30am Tuesday 14 February to 8am Saturday 18 February while we install the new equipment.

Including:

  • 43 cardio pieces
  • 25 spin bikes
  • 29 pin and plate loaded pieces
  • 15 Pilates reformers
  • Benches, stretch mats and skipping ropes

All dry group fitness classes will be unavailable during this time as we undertake additional maintenance works, high cleaning and upgrading the Pilates reformers to new and improved models. Aqua aerobics will continue as scheduled during this time. All members have the option of attending Sunbury Aquatic & Leisure Centre or Broadmeadows Aquatic and Leisure Centre to access gym facilities and group fitness classes.

All pools will remain open during this period.

Members may choose to suspend their membership during this time. This can be completed online and is free of charge. suspension request form

We will reopen the gym area and re-commence group fitness classes from Saturday 18 February @ 8am.


What does this mean members?

Will I be paying my gym/group fitness membership while the gym is closed?

What if I have a silver membership – will I pay a discounted rate?

Member entitlement options are listed above. Those who continue their membership will pay as normal. You will also be able to change your membership to aquatics for the 4 days if you choose. You will need to complete a change of details form prior to Tuesday for this to apply. request form

When can I suspend my membership?

Memberships will only be suspended for the 4 days we are closed if you choose. Suspension forms need to be received prior to Tuesday 14 February to be applied.

Will the pool be open?

Yes the pools will remain open during the gym and group fitness

What equipment are you disposing?

Almost all equipment in the gymnasium is being disposed of and replaced. Pilates reformers will also be upgraded to new and improved models. The existing Pilates reformers are being retained and will be utilised at other Council facilities in the future.


Can I buy the old gym equipment that is being replaced?

The majority of existing equipment has been traded to Life Fitness and unavailable for purchase. Some equipment has been traded to Gray’s Fitness and will be available from them in April.


Will Group Fitness classes still be running during the gym installation week?

Group Fitness classes will be unavailable from Tuesday February 14 to Friday February 17 and will resume on Saturday 18 February as we conduct deep cleaning and revamp the studios. Refer to Humefit app for classes. Aqua aerobics will run during this time as scheduled.

Will there be any support and assistance with the use of the new equipment?

Yes, our fitness instructors will be able to support our members. Instructors will undertake training to get familiar with the new equipment being installed before we reopen.

Life Fitness will also be available on the following days and times below to further assist and support member.

Monday 20 February – 5pm – 8pm

Tuesday 21 February – 4pm to 6pm

Thursday 23 February – 8am to 10am
